As a little girl growing up in Nashville, one of my favorite things to do would be to listen to the radio, and sing along with the music. It has always been a lifelong dream of mine to sing, but as dreams often do, they get set aside. Now after all this time, I have been fortunate enough not only to record an album, but I’ve had the opportunity to sing with some of the finest guitar players in the country.
For so many years, Cotten Music has been home to Nashville musicians. It is a place where they come, not just for “supplies,” but simply to hang and talk of what is important in their lives. More often than not, a guitar will be picked up and some of the best music you’ll ever hear will be played, as they sit on one of the stools in the back of the store. The magic of the little shop has brought me lasting friendships, and now some of these friends have brought their magic to my album….
Among some of the featured guitarists are Harold Bradley, Russ Barenberg, Pete Huttlinger, James Prendergast, John Knowles, John Johns, and Paul Worley. There are many other outstanding Nashville musicians on my album, including Bill Verdier on fiddle and Jeff Taylor on keyboards.
So, when you listen to Remember Me, think of all the wonderful music from days gone by, the artists and writers who brought their own magic to the songs, then just enjoy the music as it should always be remembered. It has been an honor and privilege for me to sing these classic old songs.
